Shows and Events

The Coquitlam Art Club has been invited by Mackin House to submit artworks honouring Coquitlams heritage.  The members will be submitting approximately 30 pieces of art.  The art works will be from old photos, artifacts and old existing structures, each with a brief description or story to tell.  This expansive interpretation of Coquitlams past will engage the audience in discussions about diversity and community change over time.

The show Coquitlam Heritage: A Mosaic of Our Past will be held at Place des Arts,  starting on February 16 to March 17, 2018

Membership Guidelines

We welcome all levels of artists whether you have painted for years or are just trying your hand at painting. To join our club the person must be a member of either Dogwood or Glen Pine Pavilion. The annual fee to join Dogwood or Glen Pine is very reasonable. The Coquitlam Art Club's annual member fee is $25.00. The membership allows the artist to attend our weekly Wednesday afternoon painting group, scheduled demo's by artists, workshops and critiques.

Workshops

We have the following Demo's scheduled:

March 21, 2018 - Golden Products Demo by Shari Pratt 1pm

April 2, 2018 - Artist Reza Doust - Portrait Demo in Acrylics 1pm

April 25, 2018 - Artist Sue Cowan - Landscape Demo in Acrylics 1pm

History

Coquitlam Art Club was started in 2007 at the Dogwood Pavilion and currently has 30 active members. We meet every Wednesday afternoon at the Dogwood Pavilion to enjoy comradeship with fellow artists.

Exhibits

We have permanent exhibits at the Dogwood Pavilion west side corridor gallery, and also at the Glen Pine Pavilion 2nd floor corridor gallery. We exhibit 15 pieces of art works by our members each gallery, changed every 3 months. We also exhibit 18 pieces of small works by our members at the exhibit cabinet beside the side entrance of the Dogwood Pavilion. All of the paintings we display are for sale.
